Good Morning Councillor,
Please could you assist us in spreading the word about our Walk & Talk scheme. A post has been added to our Facebook account (you will need an account to follow the link) - https://www.facebook.com/WYPLeedsNorthWest/posts/pfbid036mcDfpJeHgFMwUXKciVyDe1nhjoGWGnsFJFsEPRzrK3tYW6u4dmNeANtL2Rc5QCHl
The scheme is open to all women across Leeds, to request a walk with a local PCSO, to highlight anything in the local community that makes them feel unsafe. An example could be some street lights being out, or a house that is being used for antisocial behaviour. NPT will then review the feedback, identify the most appropriate partner agency to work with, and look to resolve the issue. More information can be found at Walk and Talk Pilot | West Yorkshire Police
We have already seen a few successful appointments in the Little London & Woodhouse ward. One of which was that some overgrown hedges were making residents feel vulnerable as darker nights are on their way. This was resolved by using people in the community payback scheme to remove the overgrowth.
It is a really useful scheme & one we’re hoping to get lots of residents involved in, so your support is vital in getting the message out there.
Thank You
District Neighbourhood Support Officer
