Please see the note below from Refuse Collection. Please let any friends and neighbours know.
In summary, if your bin collection was due on Sunday due to the Christmas and New Year changes then it will not be collected until Sunday 12th. I have received confirmation in addition to the note below that bagged side waste will be accepted if put beside green bins when collection takes place on Sunday 12th.
Note from Refuse:
Dear Councillor,
Due to the upgraded Amber Weather Warning for persistent heavy snow (areas above about 150m will likely see 15-30cm/6-12inches) from Saturday evening through all day Sunday, I have made the difficult decision to postpone the bin collections due to be made this Sunday (5th).
The collections that were due to made on Sunday 5th January will now be made a week later on Sunday 12th January instead.
This will also be a much better use of the extra resources required to complete this additional Xmas/NY catch up day (the last catch up day of the festive period).
This will ensure that we are able to collect all those bins, most of which will be extra full at this time of the year and helps avoid knock on effects for other days too next week. It also takes 60 LGVs off the roads during what is forecast to be dangerous driving conditions.
Your help in communicating this to residents would be very much appreciated.

We will ensure the Leeds Bin app and online bin collection dates are amended to reflect the revised collection date for those 60k households affected.
