Housing Leeds Annual Report 2022/23: Housing Leeds have published their latest Annual Report. You can view the pdf version of the report or see it on the website. Please share it with any relevant groups or partner agencies that you work with so they can see their successes over the year and what they’re working on in the coming months. Highlights of the report include:
- Responses to satisfaction surveys, and what they’re doing to improve in those areas where tenants have told us they could do better.
- An update on how they have spent over £92 million improving homes.
- What they are doing to make homes safer.
- The support they have provided to residents to help with the cost-of-living.
- How they continue to work with residents to improve services.
Cash for Kids’ Sports Challenge: After the last few years many clubs are struggling to stay open because of lack of funds and many kids are unable to attend because they are unable to afford to go. This challenge helps you to raise the vital funding you need to be able to buy kit or equipment, or to subsidise fees to keep kids in sports, and gives your club the chance to win a share of a £10,000 fundraising pot. National #KnowYourNumbers blood pressure week: Do you know what the numbers in your blood pressure reading mean? Leeds is supporting national #KnowYourNumbers Week from September 4-10 encouraging people to find out more about their blood pressure and how to keep it at healthy levels. Two free drop-in sessions are taking place, one at Kirkgate Market on Monday 4 September 10am-3pm and another at the White Rose Shopping Centre on Friday 8 September 9:30am-2pm. Leeds Digital Festival: Leeds Digital Festival is an open, collaborative celebration of digital culture in all its forms. The main Festival will be running from the 18th – 29th September, and will be offering up the usual open-platform programme packed full of brilliant tech and digital events, hosted by the city region’s most exciting organisations. - Officers from Leeds City Council’s serious environmental crime team have seized another vehicle, as part the council’s crack down on fly tipping, bringing the total number of vehicles seized in Leeds to 11 over the last 12 months. Full information can be found here.
- More people in Leeds will soon enjoy affordable, reliable, and low carbon heat thanks to four new connections to the Leeds PIPES district heating network that have been confirmed by Leeds City Council. Full information can be found here.
- Beautiful buildings and stylish structures have got designs on success after being shortlisted in this year’s Leeds Architecture Awards. Taking place for the first time since 2019, the awards are a collaboration between Leeds Civic Trust, Leeds Society of Architects, Leeds City Council and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
