I have just received the information below. Feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who might need it:
"As a result of ground movement on the A59 at Kex Gill, Blubberhouses, North Yorkshire have informed us that they must close the A59 to traffic this evening from 18.30hrs. At this stage it is not known how long the closure will need to remain in place.
As with previous closures of this road, a diversion route will be signed via the A65, A660, A658 & A61. The element of the diversion within Leeds takes the route from the A660 at Otley along the by-pass and up to Dyneley Arms then down Pool Bank to Pool and back over the river (and vice-versa).
North Yorkshire will be maintaining essential access to properties directly affected by the closure and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Council communications teams are requested to distribute this information through their own communications channels.
All recipients are encouraged to share this information as appropriate
This escalation has been circulated to the Major list including Otley & Yeadon and Adel & Wharfedale members.
Other recipients are: Leeds & Bradford Airport, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (potential impact on Otley Hospital), colleagues in the Flood Risk Management team, Otley Town Council, Pool Parish Council, Arthington Parish Council and Bramhope Parish Council.
Network Management and the Traffic Signals team will continue to monitor the situation and liaise with North Yorkshire. Updates will be provided as necessary."
