I received complaints in the last few days of a very large pothole on Scotland Lane going towards the airport. I asked Highways for an update and have received the update below from them:
"Dear Cllr Anderson,
I can confirm our Out of Hours operative received this yesterday evening. Upon attending it was evident it was more extensive than a general call out and was escalated to the on-call Supervisor who was able to arrange a Driver with an Hiab Truck to collect some material from the depot and assist in filling these in. We are closing the road today to plane & patch these two significant ruts along with any other potholes around this location requiring attention.
I have been shown the photos from a Facebook post and it appears part of the issue is, where the line of ‘potholes’ has developed from beyond the general carriageway edge and from what I could see was also part of some form of entrance way and likely not constructed to take the traffic overrun which has been pushed over as part of the temporary works currently in place."
