Below is the message that the school has sent to parents with further information:
"Good Afternoon,
I hope you are keeping well. I am emailing to invite you to our first Community Iftar in school. The event will be held on Friday 22nd March and is open to the whole community. The event is free of charge.
Iftar is the meal that is eaten by Muslims after they break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan. The event will start at 5.15pm and include a short presentation from staff and students about the importance of Ramadan and how it is observed. There will then be a place for Muslims to wash and pray. We will then open the fast and enjoy a meal together.
We are incredibly proud of our diverse student and staff community and would love for you to join us to learn more about the holy month of Ramadan regardless of faith. The event is free of charge and we are thankful to our local ward councillors who have donated money to this event to provide food and refreshments. We will be raising money for charity at the event.
