You may remember back in March 2024 I advised of major works to be carried out by Yorkshire Water in the Old Pool Bank area of the village. I have today received the next update from Yorkshire Water which is set out below. I have included some of the previous information as background for ease of reference. I will publish the letters referred to below as soon as I get them:

Traffic Management - Road Closure Old Pool Bank Bottom Side
- Advanced Warning Signs issuing advising of road closure 2 weeks prior to works starting
- Letter drops to affected customers/residents on Old Pool Bank (bottom side from Junction Leeds Road down to Pool Bank New Road)- informing of closure/diversion
- 7 day working between 08:00-18:00
- Businesses and Dog park open as usual - signs required - at junction Pool Bank New Road.
2 - Leeds Road/Junc Old Pool Bank to the junction of Quarry Road - Start Date 29.07.2024 End Date 22.09.2024

Reminder of Original Information:
"We’re investing over £500,000 to improve the water quality for our customers on and around Old Pool Bank. We will be completing work on Old Pool Bank, Leeds Road and Quarry Road to replace approximately 1400 metres of cast iron water main. This will improve water quality in the area as well as increasing pressure.
We will be replacing the iron pipework with an equivalent sized plastic pipe, alongside replacing all fire hydrants, sluice valves and washouts.
As always we will try complete the work as quickly as possible to reduce disruption to our customers but we’re allowing ourselves 20 weeks to ensure we have enough time to complete the work safely."
