I wondered if I may ask for your help in promoting a local initiative which I am very passionate about.
You may already be aware of the walk and talk initiative, whereby we have been inviting females from the local community to go for a walk with a member of the policing team and to have a discussion around anything in their area that is making them feel unsafe. We will then look at this with our partners to resolve it, for example some areas with very poor street lighting have been identified and amended.
Would you be able to promote this on your own local platforms for me and if you have any interactions with members of the community who you think may want to do this? I would like us to speak with as many people as possible and will be re-launching this initiative from my end.
I plan to make myself available to go on the walks whenever I can (If I am applicable) as the applicant can specify which gender of officer they would like to walk with.
Some of my team will be tasked to place some leaflets and posters relating to this in some key locations.
