Residents have raised a number of concerns with me about using the above junction and particularly turning right from Otley Road into Holt Lane; and requests for a right turn signal. I took this up with the Engineer and have received the following response:
“I can confirm that there is no intention to install a separately signalled right turn arrow at this junction. There is detection in the middle of the junction to extend the red times to allow right turning traffic time to clear the middle of the junction before the next approach receives a green signal.
Once a vehicle has crossed the stop line the red signal does not apply to that vehicle, a red signal means do not cross the stop line.”
