Taking a stand on community safety - online active bystander training sessions

The West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) is helping people to call out unacceptable attitudes and behaviours across communities.
Online ‘Active Bystander’ training sessions are being offered free of charge across each of the five Districts.
The concept delivers practical strategies to support and challenge others in difficult situations.
Each event runs from 7pm and 9pm:-
Places are limited and allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Director of the West Yorkshire VRP, Detective Chief Superintendent Lee Berry said:
“These are highly interactive workshops, which explore the role of personal leadership and community in preventing abuse and harm.
“The default can often be to ignore, walk away, or remain silent, even when it is a friend, family or neighbour that is involved or impacted.
“By providing the right skills and knowledge to safely manage a situation, we can influence behaviours and promote a positive culture within the region.”
