The Police have asked me to make people aware of the following:
"I’d like to ask for your assistance in spreading awareness of so called ‘Rogue Traders’ following a report made yesterday in Horsforth.
The premise of that call, was that a homeowner had agreed for someone to wash their driveway at an extortionate cost, and their bank quite rightly flagged the payment amount. It doesn’t appear from the log that any payment was made thankfully.
I have shared a post on Facebook, and I will be copying it to Community Alert, but please could you share the below to reach those who are not on either platform?
“We have received reports of suspected 'Rogue Traders' operating in Horsforth and other parts of West Leeds. These will often visit your address and offer to undertake some work but for a massively inflated cost.
We have attached below some guidance on how to deal with doorstep traders. Please could you share this with any friends and family, especially those who may be at risk due to any vulnerabilities.”
