I have received the latest return from the Roads Policing Team:
- "1 x Driver on mobile phone - This driver will be receiving 6 points and a large fine. Distractions using a phone are one of many reasons why people are killed or seriously Injured on the roads.
- Victoria Avenue, Yeadon - 40mph; 3 x TOR for 50mph, 58mph and 60mph.
- Otley Road Adel - 40mph limit; 1 x TOR at 60mph.
- One driver on Otley Road in Adel was found to be travelling at 80mph! He must have thought he was on the M1 northbound for Adel.
- This is twice the legal limit. Not only did he think he was on a race track but he was also found to have no insurance and no MOT. The driver had only just passed his test 8 months ago and is still within his 2 year probationary period. If probationary drivers accumulate 6 points within this 2 year period their licence will be revoked until they pass a test again. This driver will be receiving just that and a possible disqualification period. He will be attending court in the near future due to these offences."
