Traffic monitoring work in North West Leeds - Vision Zero
Alongside responding to emergency calls and attending community events, NPT Officers support Vision Zero - West Yorkshire by enforcing against traffic offences, with the aim of educating drivers & reducing the amount of people killed and seriously injured on our roads.
Below is a summary of our support for Vision Zero, since the start of August:
- 57 Fixed Penalty Notices issued for obstructive parking
- 31 Drivers given warnings for speeding
- 30 Traffic Offence reports for speeding
- 12 Drivers made to move their obstructively parked vehicles
- 5 Court summons issued for excessive speeding
- 4 Fixed Penalty Notices issued for contavening signage
- 4 Vehicles seized due to the driver not having a licence
- 4 Traffic Offence reports for driving without due care & attention
- 3 Traffic Offence reports for not being in proper control
- 2 Antisocial vehicle warnings issued under S59 powers
- 1 Arrest for driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol
- 1 Fixed Penalty Notice for parking on Zig-Zags
- 1 Vehicle seized for no insurance
- 1 Stolen vehicle recovered to its owner
- 1 Traffic Offence report for using a handheld device whilst driving
- 1 Traffic Offence report for not wearing a seatbelt
- 1 Traffic Offence report for having an expired MOT
- 1 Vehicle seized under S59 powers
- 1 Court summons issued for having 2 completely bald tyres
