Please find below the latest crime update:

Notes/Trends:
- Burglary Residential (2) – Of these two, only one has been a successful entry & this was done by snapping the door lock. I have attached a crime prevention leaflet to increase knowledge of anti-snap locks to prevent this type of offence. The other recorded incident was an attempt-only with no entry gained. They do not appear to be linked as the locations were Cookridge (successful) and Adel (attempt) and took place 5 days apart. As mentioned previously though, all residents should review the attached crime prevention advice, as the two addresses are a 5 minute drive apart which is nothing to a travelling criminal. A suspect has been identified for the attempted burglary.
- Robbery (1) – This incident is under investigation by CID & I can see enquiries are ongoing as I type. PCSOs have done a CCTV trawl, and CSI teams are examining relevant evidence.
- Theft from motor vehicle (3) – Of the 3 offences, 1 vehicle is confirmed to have been left unlocked. The other two have been entered by unknown means but with no damage caused, which would indicate that they were also unlocked or the vehicle has been entered by exploiting keyless entry systems. I have attached some crime prevention advice for the latter. Theft from motor vehicle is an issue across several of our ward areas at the moment, with similarities suggesting an opportunist thief. NPT Officers are actively reviewing CCTV footage to make a formal identification.
- Theft of Motor vehicle (2) – One incident involved a construction vehicle being stolen from a building site, after cutting through fencing that was securing the site. The other incident was a theft of a Ford Transit by unknown means, but later found on false plates & recovered.
- ASB – I just wanted to raise off the back of the PACT meeting yesterday, as you can see from the grid above, there have been no reports of ASB in the Adel & Wharfedale ward in the past two weeks. This call category includes reports of Offroad bikes. This indicates that nobody has reported an offroad bike/e-scooter/e-bike etc for over 2 weeks. Our Offroad bikes team is a shared Leeds resource & they choose where to patrol based on call demand. This would explain why residents have not seen our bikes team in Holt Park recently (although they were present and did arrest someone for drugs offences a couple of weeks ago). Please encourage residents to report all sightings via 101 live chat or the online reporting forms found on our website, as these are the two most time-efficient methods of doing so. I will find you the details of their recent arrest, so that you can pass this onto the residents who raised this as a concern.
