I have received the latest update from Connecting Leeds, below:
Dear resident
Work is progressing well with the demolition of the northern bridge section of Regent Street Flyover.
We have successfully carried out two demolition weekends which saw the A64 (M), A64 and A61 Regent Street fully closed.
Due to the good progress, we have managed to rearrange our programme for this weekend (28-30 May) and will be keeping some routes open during the day to mitigate disruption.
• The Inner Ring Road A64(M) will only close Friday and Saturday night (8pm- 5:30am) otherwise it will remain open this weekend.
• The A61 Regent Street southbound will be open during days but closes nights (8pm to 5:30am) starting from Thursday night.
• The A61 Regent Street northbound will remain open throughout the weekend with a lane 1 closure.
We do anticipate traffic to be heavier as a result of the work so kindly ask that where possible, people try to avoid travelling during peak times and try walking or cycling for shorter journeys.
Bus operators have been working hard to make travel safe by following enhanced cleaning regimes, keeping windows open and ensuring enough space for social distancing. You can check capacity on your bus service app.
Thank you for your patience while we carry out this essential work.
